To the Humphrey family,
Words seem so shallow when trying to express the shock and sorrow one feels. I knew Tom well in his younger years while sitting next to him for two years while playing cello in High School orchestra. Even tho I have had no contact with Tom since 1967 the news of his passing brought grief to my heart. He left his mark with me as well. God bless you all and may the memories of Tom stay with us all. He was a very good man.

Adrianna, The loss of a loving father is a heartbreaking experience for a young lady. I lost my dad when I was 14 but no one knows what you are feeling but you. Unfortunately, I will be out of town, due to a death in my family. My prayers and love are with you and your family. You dad loved you and your sister and mom so much and his love will help you get through the next few days and weeks. All of your Ostrander family are here to help and care for you.

Gabby and family,
I know what you all are going through and if you need ANYTHING at all, I'll be here for you. Take one day at a time, one minute at a time if you need to. Just nkow that his love for you all was so deep and nothing will ever change that. He'd want you to happy, and so do I.
"I can shed tears that he is gone, or I can smile because he has lived. I can close my eyes and pray that he'll come back, or I can open my eyes and see all he's left. My heart can be empty because I can't see him, or I can be full of the love I shared. I can turn my back on tomorrow and live yesterday, or I can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday. I can remember him only that he is gone, or I can cherish his memory and let it live on. I can cry and close my mind, be empty and turn my back. Or I can do what he'd want: smile, open my eyes, love and go on."
The quote that's helped me get through so much. Stay strong. I love you all.<33

It's really shocked to learn this sudden sad news. Even never I've met Tom personally, however through our several correspondence, he is usually generous & showing his curiosity to the guitar innovation!
Please accept my deepest condolence to your family.
His soul is surely rest in peace.
Thomas Humphrey is legend...
Thanks to your great contribution to the Guitar World!

I am so sorry for the loss of your father. He was a wonderful man. He loved you very, very much. His eyes would shine so brightly everytime he talked about you. He was truly proud to have you as his daughter. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I would attend his services; however, I will be out of town until Tuesday. Please call me if you need to talk.
