Ray Kinsey Obituary

Ray Arthur Kinsey, Sr., 84, of Boones Mill, passed peacefully with the loving hands of family at his side on Saturday July 4, 2009. He was born February 10, 1925, son of the late Edward and Zora Flora Kinsey. Ray was a truck driver for 22 years while also farming. He then retired to the hard work of farming the land he loved. He was preceded in death by a sister, Alma Jewell and granddaughter, Cathy Walters. Surviving are his wife of 67 years, Lovella Burgess Kinsey; sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Barbara Kinsey, Ray Arthur Kinsey Jr., Gregory and Priscilla Kinsey; daughters and sons-in-law, Joyce and Lonnie Walters, Donna and George Lewis, Karen Kinsey and special friend, James Guilliams, Sherry and Paul Naff; twelve grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Jason McClellan; and several nieces and nephews. The family suggests memorials be made to Good Samaritan Hospice, 3825-A Electric Road, SW, Roanoke, Va. 24018 or Boones Mill Christian Church, 7950 Grassy Hill Road, Boones Mill, Va. 24065. Funeral services will be conducted from Boones Mill Christian Church 11 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Stewart Royce officiating. Interment will follow in the Mountain View Memorial Park.
