Nancy King Obituary

Nancy Ruby Montgomery King, 93, of Crockett, Va., passed away Saturday, December 12, 2009, in Wythe Co. Community Hospital. She was born in Carroll Co., Va. on August 21, 1916, the daughter of the late Albert Gagelee Montgomery and Mamie Bobbitt Montgomery. Mrs. King was a graduate of Fries High School and Pisgah School of Nursing. She was a retired nurse from the Wytheville Hospital and Sanitorium and a member of the Wytheville Seventh Day Adventist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, H. Peery King; a brother, McKinley Montgomery; and a sister, Levey Montgomery Jones. She is survived by four children, Juanita King Colley, of Suffolk, Va., Roger and Beverly King, of Crockett, Va., Judy and Jerry Yonce , of Wytheville, Va., Steven and Sarah King, of Amherst, Va.; six grandchildren, Michael Colley, Jeffrey and Michelle Colley, Neil and Lorna King, Cynthia King, Latricia Yonce, Davina Yonce; and six greatgrandchildren. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 15, 2009, at the Barnett Funeral Chapel with Elder James Cox officiating. Interment will follow in the Rosewood Memorial Gardens in Rural Retreat. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday evening at the Barnett Funeral Home. The family suggests that those who prefer may make memorials to Blue Ridge Chapter of the M.S. Society, 1 Morton Drive, Suite 106, Charlottesville, Va. 22903. Barnett Funeral Home, Wytheville, Va., is in charge of arrangements.
