Matty was a very special soul - we met at Living Now on St. Mark's Place in the early 1980s. I still think of him often, even though I haven't seen him in many years. He truly carried the message and lived it.

Matty was a most unlikely friend for me to make in 1991. Matty taught me that we all have more in common than we realize. Every time I came to visit Rke, I would always pop by and see him on my way out of town. The last time I saw him we were traveling opposite directions on Grandin rd. We saw each other and both turned around at the same time. I jumped out of the car, he off his bike and he about knocked me over he hugged me so hard. Matty will always be a person of love and friendship to me. I will miss him greatly.

My heart and prayers go out to the family I have known Matty since 1992 when I came to AA he was always willing to help me and anyone. I will miss him dearly just a couple of months ago I was struggleing with something. And felling down and Matty said to me we are all humans do not let this get you down just remember you do not have to drink. He was always willing to help anyone. I will truely miss my friend.

To my friend Maddie,
You were my friend. When life made no sense, you understood. When life threw a curveball you showed me that it was really an opportunity at something better. Of all the aquaintences in AA, you were an instant friend and I Loved you deeply. While I am sad I had not seen you for a while I also celebrate having known you.
I will always remember our talks about motorcycles, cars, recovery, fishing on Claytor Lake, and waterskiing (Maddie learned to waterski on the first pull!). I will always cherish those times.
You were a friend who will always have a special place in my heart.
