Guster C. Chagaris

Guster C. Chagaris Left us on Valentine's Day - the perfect day to celebrate the big heart and spirit he shared with all who knew him. He was dad, papou, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, friend. Most of all he was the loving and adoring husband of Irene, his soul-mate for 64 years. Dad had a great sense of humor, a contagious smile, and a twinkle in his eye. He was a man of integrity and service and his deeds and words were always loving and warm. He loved golf, playing cards and occasionally a good Manhattan. He loved his FSS trips with his two sons - a cherished tradition for many years. A CPA for nearly 40 years he was a mathematical whiz with a love of numbers. Gus served his country, a veteran and first lieutenant in World War II and the Korean War. He served his community as president of the Board of Directors of Mills-Peninsula Hospital 1969-1980. He was also the president of the N. Cal Hospital District Association and past president of the Kiwanis Club. A man of many gifts, he remains our inspiration. He was a long-time resident of Millbrae, age 90. Family and friends may call after 4 PM on Wednesday, February 18, and attend the Trisagion at 7 PM at CHAPEL OF THE HIGHLANDS, 194 Millwood Drive at El Camino Real in Millbrae. Funeral Services will be at the Greek Orthodox Church of the Holy Cross, 900 Alameda de Las Pulgas in Belmont on Thursday, February 19 at 11 AM, with Entombment to follow at Greek Orthodox Memorial Park in Colma. The family prefers memorial contributions be made to the Greek Orthodox Church of the Holy Cross, Belmont, CA.
