I am so sadden by the loss of such a beautiful person. She will always be on my mind. As a matter of fact, she gave me a special holiday ornament that I still have and put on my tree every yr. Brad:

We spent the July 4th together this year and i'm truly astonished and so deeply saddened by this news. The planet is richer for having had Sima walk upon it, and so, so much poorer now. My most deeply sympathetic thoughts are with you.

Both David and I are striving to putting our lives together again after the death of our eldest on "David" on September 25th, another cancer victim. Dear Brad,

My deepest sympathy to you and your family. I worked with Sima for a short time this year and had no idea that she was ill, which explains my disbelief in her unfortunate and premature passing. I admired her greatly for her intelligence, elegance and beauty. I feel privileged to have had the opportunity to meet and work with her. I hope that you will find comfort in your memories together, and from knowing that everyone who knew her will miss her.

Most sincerely, Jennifer Kano

Brad - Again, I am so sorry. I still cannot believe this has happened. She was a beautiful woman, strong and courageous. Brilliant on so many levels. You are very fortunate to have had her by your side all these years. It is tragic that her life was cut far too short. Take comfort in knowing that she is at peace now, and her love will always be with you.

Dear Brad, When I saw Sima's picture in the paper yesterday, I immediately thought "what has that brilliant woman done now?". I was completely shocked to learn that I was actually reading the notice of her most untimely departure from everyone who came to know and love her, and to learn that she (and you) had been battling this disease made it all the more unfair. I wish you eventual peace along with your undying memories of the wonderful years you and Sima had together. I admired you both while you were at Maryland and will continue to do so until the day I see Sima again.

Dear Brad, We are so sad about Sima. Sima was lovely like flowers and sunshine. We have special memories of her. Your garden will bloom like she loved it. We will miss seeing her outside with her boots on gardening on weekends and enjoying her flowers. God bless to you and your family.

Dear Brad and Faris and Young Family Members:
We at the University Clinic, the Evevlyn Jordan Center, echo the deepest sentiments of David Oldach. We enjoyed working with Sima and often joked about her being our favorite Phoenician. It is with sorrow we hear of her passing. Our prayers are with you families.

Dear Brad and family:

It was an amazing priviledge to have met Sima, to work with her, to spend time with her, to know her. She brought elegance and quiet commitment to the drug development projects we worked on together, pushing team members one step beyond...fostering success for the team and for the individual. Her broad knowledge, attention to detail, and ethical approach to all issues made her a valued colleague. I miss her.

Dear Brad and members of Sima's family;
Our hearts reach out to you. Here at the U of Maryland, for most of us who were unaware of Sima's diagnosis, today's news is a wrenching shock. Sima was such a lovely, friendly and compassionate colleague and doctor. We were blessed to have her with us here in Baltimore, and applauded her move to California as the next step in a wonderful career path. Her death at such a young age is a profound loss to all of us. Please know that our prayers are with you.
