Patti, GOD be with you and guide you through this time of terrible grief and lonliness. Justin will always be a part of everything in your life, the sun that shines, the breezes that blow, the stars that twinkle at night and most of all the wonderful memories, and your beautiful Lilly. I don't know how to put my feelings into words right now Justin. I miss you terribly and so does Lilly. She is everything to me as I know she was to you. You gave me the best gift in the world!! When I look into her eyes, I see you. She acts just like you sometimes even though everyone (including you) said that she gets her attitude from me! I had the hardest time trying to find words to say to her but I told her that you went to Heaven to be with Jesus. I told her that her Daddy is in her heart and she said "I wanna see my Daddy... I wanna go in my heart and see my Daddy." She misses you. I will never let her forget you, nor will I ever let her grow up and not hear about you and what a wonderful man you were and what a wonderful Daddy you were to her. You will always have a place in my heart. I love you.

Dear Justin,
I have had the pleasure of knowing you since the day you were born. You had the most beautiful blue eyes in the world. I remember babysitting you on several occasions and boy were you curious about everything, you kept me on my toes. Next thing I knew you were a grown man with a beautiful child of his own. It breaks my heart that god had to take you so early. I know he has his reasons, but it still hurts. I know you are looking down on all of us keeping a watchful eye and I hope my brother Jimmy is by your side, you two will make a great team. You will forever be loved and missed by many people.
Love,
Dara

TO THE SMITH FAMILY: IM VERY SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS. JUSTIN WILL BE MISSED AND ALWAYS IN ALL OF OUR HEARTS. HE TRULY WAS A GREAT GUY.
August 24, 2008
Dear Justin,
You know that I have trouble putting my feelings into words. Just remember that I love you and will always love you.
Grandma said her kitchen is now closed at lunch time. Guess I'll have to fix my own now.
Remember the way she said things that didn't make sense and she got upset because you & I couldn't figure out what she was trying to say and we laughed and that got her to laughing too? She always said it was her Pennsylvania Dutch.
You and I had good talks about fishing, cars, and planting trees. Who am I going to ask now when things go wrong with the pick-up and van? You were so good at being able to tell what was wrong when you listened to them run.
I will miss you forever.
Love, Grandpa Galloway
August 24, 2008
Dear Justin,
I need to apologize to you and pray that you can forgive me. I feel that as your grandma I failed you because I was being selfish. When I saw you before your surgery, I told you to be tough, be strong, and fight because of Lilly. I don't remember saying I love you, but I know you knew I did. What I should also have said to you was Jesus and the angels were there and if you felt the need, just take His hand and go. The chaplain was at the foot of the gurney praying for you and the family. During your surgery, I prayed for God to guide the doctor's hands, help the nurses, and to heal you. That, God did. But what I wanted was Him to heal you so you would be here with us longer and to raise our precious Lilly.
Justin, I know you didn't want to leave us, but you are whole and perfect once again. You are in the arms of the Lord. I know you are Lilly's special guardian angel and will be watching over her all the days of her life. I will not let her forget her daddy. As time goes on, please help grandpa and me to remember all the funny things you said and did.
Grandma's kitchen is now closed at lunch time.
I sure am going to miss your hugs and kisses.
Someday we will be together again.
Hugs and Kisses, Grandma Galloway
P.S. I saw the x's in the sky around your home the other day and ran in to get everyone to come see. We know it was you and our Lord watching over us.
August 24, 2008
To our son we love so deep,
We know your love we will always keep.
"In our mind and our souls" we know,
You lived and loved and kept no foes.
Son, life for you every one knows,
That love and life is the way it goes.
For love you gave and love you got,
Will always say you loved a lot.
Life so good and life so bad.
But life from you is the best we've had.
Now you're gone and we're so sad,
The heaven's have taken you and
they are glad.
So shine on us like you did,
Because we love you, you silly kid.
Love you always, Dad

I went to school with Justin. I remember driving by the "PARK" in New Berlin he would always be there. I stopped one night and Justin and i just talked the whole night. He was a great person and great friend. I will always remember Justin doing things to always make you smile, like strapping a raft to the top of Heath's car (while parked) and sitting on top with a fishing pole acting like he was fishing. He just made you laugh all the time. I am going to miss him.

Walk with me daddy
Submitted by: BJscrapsalot

Walk alongside me, daddy
and hold my little hand.
I have so many things to learn
that I don't yet understand.
Teach me things to keep me safe
from dangers every day.
Show me how to do my best
at home, at school, at play.
Every child needs a gentle hand
to guide them as they grow.
So walk alongside me, daddy -
We have a long way to go.

To the Justin Smith Familly, We met Justin through Mandy our grandaughter, and later we had the opportunity to watch Lilly. She is such an amazing child, whom we love very much. While watching her , her daddy picked her up each day. He most generally stuck around and visited for awhile. He was also always there to answer any questions my husband had about problems with our vehicles. We learned to become very fond of him. He was a great Dad and loved Lilly very much.We will miss his smiling face and him coming to the house. My heart felt sympathy goes out to all his family and friends and we are grieving right along with you.We will be praying for each and everyone of you. Inez and Chuck VanHoos

Justin,
I remember the first day my dad took me with him to your mom's house 18 years ago. He bought me a big box of 64 crayons and a Halloween coloring book. I brought it with me and sat at your kitchen table. I did not say a word to anyone because I was so shy. You asked if you could color with me, I said yes and you kept politely asking me for more crayons. You were the first person I bonded with in your family. We had a great time growing up together. We were always cooking something for breakfast on Sunday mornings ( even though my dad wasn't it always a fan), jumping on the trampoline, tickling my dad, and swimming in the pool. Oh I forgot that I owe you a water bottle for your bike after I knocked into the creek. You always brought that up! Tim thought you were an amazing person, just I like I did. I wish he got the honor of knowing you longer. I know you will always be around because whenever I look at Lilly I see you in her face. I miss you and will always love you.

I am so sorry to all of Justins family and friends about this tragic loss. We had the pleasure of having Justin in our family because Lilly is our great neice. He was a great father and he became a great friend right after we first met. We loved Justin and always considered him part of our family. He would do anything for our family and with a smile. I also had the pleasure of working with him at Drake Scruggs we all loved him there and he was a valuable part of our work family. He is now in heaven with our Heavenly Father watching over all of us until we meet again. Our hearts and prayers go out to all who he left behind who cares and loved Justin which included us. He was a wonderful, caring and loving father and friend he will be greatly missed by all. You can rest assured we will keep his memory alive so Lilly will be able to grow up and know what a great father she had. Gods Blessings

To our little angel pie, Lilly:
Through tears we are writing this to you. Your daddy has gone to heaven to be with Jesus and we can't understand why. We know that he would have stayed here to see you grow up if he could have. Some day we will see your daddy again. We wanted to let you know that he loved you so very much. The day you were born was the happiest day of his life. He was so proud of you. We know in our hearts that he will be your special guardian angel watching over you all the days of your life. God blessed our family when He gave your daddy to us. He was a ray of sunshine to all who knew him. We have lots to tell you about your daddy. We love you Lilly and will never let you forget him. He will live on forever in our hearts.

I came to know Justin as a student at New Berlin High School. Justin was always full of life and was one of my favorite young men to talk with about cars. I was very proud of him when he went on to further his education and become an ASE certified technition. I would always look forward to seeing him when we ran into each other when he was at Crossroads Ford, or when I went to Drake Scruggs. Justin was very proud of his daughter and loved to talk about her at great length. I am very, very sorry for the Smith Family for the loss of this fine young man. I will always remember the times and conversations that we had fondly, he was a good man, and I will miss him greatly.

Justin blessed this world in many ways and taught us all many lessons. He continues in his death to teach us, life is short live it to the fullest, Live, Love and Laugh. Justin lived each day of his short life, he loved much and most of all he laughed and made many of us laugh as well. You will nolonger see him daily, but he lives on in Lily, you will be reminded of his love through lilly's hugs and of his laughter each time you hear his child laugh. God give you the strength to carry on.

Whoever said things happen for a reason have some serious explaining to do. How someone so young and full of life can be taken in the blink of an eye is very hard to understand. Justin worked for Dick at Drake-Scruggs and he became like a son to us. Dick had all the respect in the world for Justin. He had called that very day and had asked us to join him that evening. All the woulda shoulda coulda's won't bring him back, but he will be dearly missed. I don't think any father was more proud or loved his child as much as Justin loved Lilly. For those of you who will have to answer her questions, please let her know she was dearly loved by her daddy and give her the extra love she will need because he is no longer here. For those of us he has left behind, let's always remember the laughs and the smiles he would bring to our day. Our hearts go out to his family, you can be proud of Justin for the fine person he was. Justin, you will be missed by many.
August 19, 2008
For all of Justin's family and friends,
For those of us who knew Justin and loved him, sitting here writing this is extremely difficult. My heart is heavy and the sadness felt - overwhelming. Justin was a wonderful young man, full of energy and a smile that could light up a room and I myself, along with my family, loved him very much. He gave so much of himself and gave us a gift that I thanked him for many a day. He blessed our lives with precious little Lilly, and for that, we will forever be greatful. I cannot answer questions as to why, I'm pretty confident no one can, but his memory will live on forever in the hearts of all who loved and cared for him, never to be forgotten and to be installed always in the heart of
Miss Lillian Rae Marie Smith.
With much love, Grandma Diana

August 19, 2008
To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived
okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here
is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you
every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up
and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were
gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for
me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's
chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life
on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not
be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But
one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a
time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will
give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day
was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the
way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick
him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in
your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember
you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

To the Family of Justin, I know the intense pain and vacant space in your being, my feelings are the same and it is so hard to continue the journey of our life that God has planned for us. I truly know we will be reunited with our sons in heaven on the day we are called home. My son TJ was taken home just 5 months ago and my life has changed just as yours has and for that I am very very sorry because it hurts so very much. TJ and Justin worked together at Crossroads Ford and became friends, I trust that TJ met Justin already in heaven and is showing him Paradise. This is no consolation because there is none, but know that I will be praying for you as so many are praying for my family. May God give you strength. please contact me if and when you feel like it.

Our hearts go out to you and our thoughts and prayers are with you.
