Earl Warren Obituary

BULPITT - Earl B. Warren, 80, of Bulpitt died at 8:35 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, 2009, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Pana.

He was born Feb. 19, 1929, in Chicago, the son of Emma (Hozie) Warren and Colmer Earl Warren.

Hattie Louise Warren, 77, of Bulpitt died at 5:25 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 20, 2009, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Pana.

She was born Jan. 13, 1932, in Taylorville, the daughter of Louise (Lambin) Huston Warren and Robert "Bob" Huston.

Earl and Hattie were married on May 27, 1950, in Kincaid.

Earl was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Thelma Davis Garrison, Marie Halsted and Leona Binegar.

Hattie was preceded in death by her stepfather, Joseph W. Frain. A great-grandson, Jacob Cluck also preceded them in death.

Earl and Hattie are survived by four sons, David (wife, Linda) Warren of Irving, Dale (wife, Mary Sue) Warren of Bulpitt, Daniel (wife, Rebecca) Warren of Houston and Gary (wife, Kathy) Warren of Kincaid; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Hattie is also survived by a brother, Joseph (wife, Linda) Frain of Springfield; and two sisters, Marlene (husband, Fred) Willoughby of Sherman and Darlene (husband, Thomas) Noreuil of Springfield.

Earl graduated from South Fork Community High School in Kincaid in 1948. He worked as a coal miner for over 41 years He retired from Peabody Coal Mine 10 at Pawnee in 1993. He was a United State Marine veteran serving during the Korean War. He was a member of St. Rita Catholic Church in Kincaid. He was also a member of the United Mine Workers of America Local 9819 and was a charter member of the Knights of Columbus Council 4446 in Kincaid.

Hattie was a homemaker and worked for the Illinois Secretary of State for several years. She was a member of St. Rita Catholic Church in Kincaid and also the St. Rita Alter and Rosary Society in Kincaid.

Visitation for Earl and Hattie will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2009, at Masterson Funeral Home in Kincaid, there will be a prayer service at 5:45 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 24, 2009, at St. Rita Catholic Church in Kincaid, with Father Alan Hunter officiating.

Earl and Hattie will be buried at Horse Creek Cemetery in Pawnee.

My thoughts and prayers are with you all. I met Earl and Hattie when I worked at Heritage Manor and I thought they were a wonderful couple. I enjoyed talking with Earl and he always had a smile on his face and a good word to say. They will be missed.
