Sister of Kayla Squires, David Dyer, Kayla Burns, Justin Burns and Patrick Burns. Granddaughter of Gene Squires, Joyce Stokes and Ronald Stokes, Roy and Joan Dyer. Niece of Patrick and Jennifer McCollam. Best Friend of Azdin and Baysia. Friends are welcome for visitation Friday 9-9:45AM and are invited to attend services Friday 10AM at the CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS, Rocklin Stake Center (2610 Sierra Meadow Dr., Rocklin). Interment Roseville Cemetery. PRICE FUNERAL CHAPEL (725-2109), directors.

Destiny,
I think of you often, but especially on this day. I'm going to visit you later today as I often do. I can still hear your great big laugh inside my head and it always makes me smile. One of my favorite memories of us together is when Jen and Pat took us to a concert downtown. We both wore Jen's clothes and you put on my black sparkle lipstick. We both thought we were so cool, haha. It always makes me laugh.

Destiny Pearl Squires was born on May 21, 1986, in Carmichael California. She blossomed into a very beautiful and bright young lady. At the age of 18 years 5 months and 3 days, her life was tragically taken from us all. I am her Mother Sandy Higgins. It all happened on the 24th of October 2004. She was coming from church Sunday evening, on her way to a church dance.
She was driving down Douglas Blvd, (Roseville Ca.) heading east towards Granite Bay. She was going thru the intersection there at Sierra College, when another 18 yr old, talking on a cell phone, thought his light was green. It was not. Well, the tragic result that horrible night, was I lost my precious daughter. Due to the negligent use of cell phones and inattention.
This is year #3 without her, and it is so so very very hard . Emotionally, I'm a mess. But well.:} On OCT 24,2007 at 8pm We "her sis and brother and other family members" along with some of her friends, will be attending a candlelight vigil that we have been doing every year since she was called from us. Destiny was such a great person. Everyone who knew her speaks of the impact she had on their lives. She is deeply missed. Her love for our Lord assures us of her place in heaven.
Jesus Christ came to this earth and died upon that cross to
shed his blood for all of our sins then, now, and in the future. And rose from the dead so that we all may be SAVED.
The word of God The Living BIBLE,. John 3:16 says it all

My sweet sweet Destiny,
Oh how I miss you , this is year #16 incredible it's been this long, I can not believe this.
We all miss you and deeply love and adore the years we did have with you... thank you for all the love you gave to each one of us . O.k. this is year 16 and well Destiny's candlelight vigil is going to be at the same spot as the last 15.. 7:45 p.m. see ya there!!!!

How I miss you so very much, just seems like you and I have our own little conversations
I feel like I've neglected to be in this guest book now for quite sometime now, no its not like she's not right here with me,but she really is, for all of you who take a glance thru,and think oh my ..... her own mother .....Yada Yada yada... well you're all wrong....
She drops in now and then, I know shes always around her baby sis Kaylas, cuz her son Wyatt always is looking into the air in a bewildered kind of way. Then he'll smile or sometimes Crack up laughing.. I think that's when she's tickling him......
Yes I'm still having candlelight vigils and will continue to do so until I'm gone to my final resting spot.
Destiny your mom misses and has never ever for one moment stopped loving you no day goes by without thinking of you and what an impact you made on so many people's lives. Just amazing.

your sister Kayla had your nephew Wyatt Ulric Tillotson yesterday at 6:05 pm he was a whopping 9 pounds 7 ounces 19.5 inches It was so very hard for her but your sister did it wow, I am a grandma..In september your brother David's girl Rachel will have me another one, Wish you were here.I miss you sweetie, Keep us all safe I love you and we will still be having your candleight vigil on the 24th Oct as usual....Nothing has changed except that you have not been here for almost 10 years gosh what a drag, I MISS YOU........

I intend on coming to her vigil and bringing my son. She came over to my place just to meet him a couple of days before God called her home..he was 3 yrs old. Now he is 12 and I still speak of her to him. I wanted to share a photo from one day a few months ago crossing over the intersection there was a rainbow and what appears to be a face. It gave me comfort that she was watching over me that very minute...don't worry I took the picture before I started to drive :) See you there! Miss you Destiny <3

Sadly, my mom and I witnessed the crash that took this young lady's life as we drove the opposite direction on Douglas blvd. I think of her every time I drive thru the intersection of Douglas and Sierra College and say a prayer for her and her family. I know it has been many years but I just want to let you know we are still praying for your family.

Hi Destiny,
Here we are at year 6. Unbelievable,
I just want to invite all your friends and family to another Candlelight vigil.
So far each year they get bigger and better.
I know that I am doing the right thing...
If we can get the word out there that cellphones,texting+inattention=DEATH
We are going in the right direction..
So I encourage all you out there to come and support this cause.
As usual I will be there around 7pm I usually get this event started right around 7:30-7:45 pm.

To all of DESTINY'S Friends/Family,
We are coming up on her 5 year anniversary Oct 24th. The candlelight vigil will be at the same place.
Sierra College/Douglas.
If we all can save just one family from going through what we all had to loosing her, due to Inattention & Cellphones, it will have been worth it. I miss her everyday and I know that she is smiling upon us all.
