MAR, Richard
Passed away unexpectedly but peacefully on August 13, 2004, at the age of 86. He is survived by Betty, his wife of 60 years; his children and their spouses Ricarda (Barry Lim), Candace (Kenneth Philipson), Ryan (Dalene), Eric (Sandra) and Gordon (Cecilia Wong); his grandchildren Lisa Lim (Gary Fanger), Adam Lim (Michelle), Casey, David Philipson and Jade; his great-grandchildren Bryn and Mitchell Fanger; and Siblings Katherine Chan, John and Kenneth; he is predeceased by siblings Robert and Karen Lum. A resident of Sacramento for 58 years, Richard was a World War II veteran serving in the Army Air Corps. He worked for the State of California for 24 years, retiring from the Department of Water Resources in 1980. Richard's inimitable humor, generosity and quiet strength will be forever missed by those who knew him. In accordance with his wishes, private services will be held. Donations in his memory may be made to the Asian Community Center, 7375 Park City Drive, Sacramento, Ca 95831.
