Norbert Konrad Przybilla Feb. 10, 1943 - Jan. 15, 2009
BOSSIER CITY, LA - Mr. Norbert Przybilla died at his home on Jan. 15th at age 65 after battling cancer. He was born in Beuthen, Germany on Feb. 10, 1943. Norbert moved to Louisiana in 1986 to pursue his business dreams. He proved to be very successful. He was very appreciative of those who helped him build the business he established in Shreveport, The European Car Centre. Norbert was a husband, father, brother, uncle and a dear friend to many. He loved Jesus Christ and found peace in God. He always enjoyed life and was fearless in all his endeavors.
Armed with a Masters Mechanic Diploma, Norbert began a racing career in 1965. During his racing years, he won over 6,000 trophies that included three German Championships (1970 - 1972). Norbert was even crowned the European Champion (1981). He raced Formula II Can Am and was sponsored by Porsche (1978 - 1984).
Even though Norbert was an ocean away and loved his American life, he never forgot his German heritage, family and friends. His name is still remembered by many German Race fans. He was a strong man that always lived life to the fullest.
We celebrate Norbert's life and know that he is now in a better place. He will be missed and remembered. Our thoughts and prayers are with Norbert's American family and friends.

I know it has been years, but my love of European vehicles and ability to work on them came from Norbert and his brother. Norbert also was gracious enough to sell me my first car after taking a chance and making me a mechanic at his shop.

Lieber Norbert, Du wirst sehr vermißt hier unten! Ich mußte gerade leider lesen, dass 2 Fahrer bei Testfahrten auf der Nordschleife Höhe Tiergarten ohne fremde Einwirkung tödlich verunglückt sind! Ich habe sofort an Dich gedacht, denn Du warst einer der Besten, die dort oben oft am Limit unterwegs waren! Gott sei Dank konntest Du dich bis ins Alte Dich damals in Klotten persönlich kennengelernt zu haben! :-) MM

Ich habe über Internet erfahren, dass Norbert tot ist und das hat mich sehr traurig gemacht,Habe gerade diese Seite gefunden.Er ist mir immer noch in guter Erinnerung und auch die Rennen, die ich in Hockenheim und auf dem Nürburgring dank ihm erleben durfte. Norbert is the only man I have ever known, that his dog Cindy slept on the hood of his Rolls Royce. Norbert was a good friend to us all and will be missed by so many in the Shreveport, Bossier area. If we all had just alittle of the kindness Norbert had it would be a better world. Miss you Norbert.

When I think of Norbert I think of the great dinners we had, Norbert would come pick us up in the limo or we would meet him and have a wonderful evening. He was such a generous person and had a great sense of humor. He will be missed.

I miss you so very much. I awoke this morning thinking of you and our fun times we had. Our long talks with our 64's. Our days of enjoying golf or laying by the pool, just simply soaking up some sun.You left me with so many memories. We could have so much fun with the simplest things. My favorite memories of you are the days back in Klotten as my Uncle Norbert. We had many good times and lots to be thankful for. Then we grew apart and I moved to the States in 1983. Come to find out so did you. We reconnected in Shreveport and for a while it was like having a Family again. You made me laugh many times. I enjoyed your dry sence of humor. I will never forget the lessions in life you tought me and I will never forget you.

My dad was a very powerfull and strong man. The times, we share together were never boring, cause my dad has lots of ideas and want to made them come true. We think that he will win the fight against cancer cause he was very strong. He lived his life if he wants to and made his dreams come through. I wished I could talk to him a last time before he goes - I can't imagine that he is gone. I'm a part of him and he will always be in my heart and mind. Wish we had some more time. We are so sorry and hope to see you again some day and spent some time together.

Norbert was truly a great person. He was just like family. He watched over me and my girls and adopted us as his American family. We enjoyed many things together, from work to travel. He taught me to play golf and gamble with success. I miss you everyday. In the mornings I catch myself wanting to call you. I miss our good times we had together . I will never forget you Norb. May you rest in peace.

Norbert was a very dear friend and was always a joy to visit and very pleasant to do business with. East Kings highway is not the same without him. We will surely miss him.

I was lucky enough to watch him race Porsche in Nurnberg, GE back in the early eighties and met him once. I then stumbled upon his path again and brought a Jaguar from him in Shreveprt. What a small world we live in.
