James Aleveras Obituary

ALEVERAS, JAMES Colonel, U.S. Army (Ret.) James Aleveras, passed away peacefully on July 15, 2008. Born in Bangor, PA in 1920, he was a graduate of the U.S. Military Academy and a decorated veteran of World War II, Korea and Vietnam. He retired to San Diego County in 1971 and did extensive volunteer work and community service. He will be remembered for his sense of humor and respect for all. He is survived by a son, daughter-in-law, and many loving friends. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Tuesday, August 5th, at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Legion Endowment Fund, c/o The American Legion Headquarters, P.O. Box 1055, Indianapolis, IN 46206.

Thank You for your kind and loving spirit. Thank You for teaching my young son the meaning of truly giving back. Thank You for your hard work as a volunteer for the San Diego County Library specifically the La Mesa branch. Thank You for your jokes and tears of laughter at branch events. Thank You for showing up and stepping up in your life. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You ! When I grow up I want to be just like you.
