Minerva Hopkins

Bartlett, N.H. Minerva (Cucinotta) Hopkins, of Bartlett, formerly of Brockton, Mass., passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at Sunbridge in North Conway Wednesday, April 2, 2008. She was 96. Minerva was born in Camden, Maine, to Guy and Georgie Cucinotta. She graduated from Camden High School in 1930. She moved from Camden, Maine, to Hyde Park, Mass., and finally settled in Brockton. Min briefly worked at Sears & Roebuck and then managed the lunch counter at Liggetts Drug Store in Brockton. She had many hobbies including painting, gardening, crocheting, knitting and reading. She enjoyed playing cards with her friends, traveling and spending time with her grandchildren. Minerva was the wife of the late Orman Hopkins; and the mother of Earl Hopkins of Bartlett and Joan Lucini of Stoughton, Mass. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Barbara (Fernandes) Hopkins; and son-in-law, Gus Lucini; her six grandchildren, Michelle Capozzoli, Brian Hopkins, Jean (Nardozzi) Maini, John Nardozzi, James Nardozzi and Jaye Lisa Flanzbaum; 16 great-grandchildren; and three great great-grandchildren. Visiting hours will be at Furber & White Funeral Home, 2925 White Mountain Highway, North Conway, from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 5, 2008. Calling hours will also be held at the Kane Funeral Home, 605 Washington St., Easton, Mass., Monday, April 7, 2008, from 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. with a burial to follow at 12:30 p.m. in Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton, Mass. One of Minervas passions was her cats.
