Dear Mr. Robin, although I never knew you well, my sister and brothers respected you from afar. Our father went thru a very similar situation as we were left alone to deal the best we could. Our hearts go out to your children at this time of sympathy.

We miss you Bill. I want to thank you for being a special part of our family. Although I did not know you in the early years of my life you were there when I got married and shared the joy in welcoming my four children into the world as a father and grandfather would. You comforted my mother when her parents passed on and always watched over her, wanting to protect her from any harm or sadness. You were a wonderful inspiration to my children. You taught us all to never give up, keep a positive attitude and keep fighting no matter what. Krystal and I will miss sharing yard sale treasure stories with you and Brian will miss your shared love for the Red Sox. Those memories will live on in us all as you will live on in our hearts and thoughts forever. I thank you Bill Robin for taking care of my Mom over the many years and I promise to take care of her as you would wish.

Love Lisa Giffen and family

Dear Dad,
For every day that passes, I think of you more and more. You are in my dreams and I cannot help but feel you are still with us. There are signs of you everywhere, guiding us through the journey. The journey of the unknown. The unknown that will soon be identified. You have our commitment and you have our love. I miss you so very much. Forever in our hearts.

My dearest husband Bill,

You are missed so very much - your love and caring ways, your laugh and sense of humor.

The 25 years we shared together were special, and I treasure every moment.

On this Father's Day, I remember the caring dad you were to your children and step-daughter.

I will love you always.

To you dear Willie,

I was very saddened when Joette told me you had a setback medically. It was not an easy road you had to walk and I was comforted to know that our girls were so supportive to you during such a difficult time.

I have always had a very special place in my heart for you that has never left me. I thank you for the many good years we had together and for the beautiful children we raised. With our guidance and support, each one of them has become a beautiful person, successful in their own right. We are truly blessed.

With love remembered.

Here's the poem/letter to my father:

Just one last time

Dear Dad –- there was so much I had to say just one last time
I thought for sure that I’d see you again
Only to hear that you were gone and I’d never have the chance
I hope you didn’t suffer in the end as you’d had your share of pain.

I was going to tell you how much I love you and how much I’ve always cared
And how proud I was that you were my Dad
Always there for me no matter what, unconditionally
And I wanted to give you a hug that would never let go.

My heart is broken and sad as I know that part of me has gone with you
We were alike in so many ways and now I want to keep what I can
Your loyalty, your sensitivity, your love of animals, your strong fight and will to do what was right
And your laugh.

Just one last time
I wish you could have waited for me to say good bye
I know you would have but it wasn’t your choice
Just one last time, I wanted to see your face.
And your smile and hold you to tell you that I never wanted to let you go.
I miss you so much and will for the rest of my life
And forever regret that there was no last time.

My sister, Joette wrote this poem for my father this morning:

the fight began with the light of day
the wolf searching for love that was lost
across the seas, to the unknown
with forces to make peace across the world

longing for relief of pain
continuous work along the endless road, his search
at peace he lies surrounded in pine
Old Glory gives thanks
as he lay in rest, the wolf with his rose
God brings him home

Willie Robin was a unique man and those whom he loved were let into his world. He's missed greatly by his family and friends and will continue to be in our hearts forever. He's smiling down at us all and would have loved his send off/goodbyes on May 27th with the State Police motorcade, Brockton Police solute and lunch at The Lafayette House. Thank you -- from our family and know that Willie has touched your life.
