Patrick Miller Obituary

Somerset Patrick E. Miller, age 83, of Somerset, passed away Saturday, May 31, 2008, surrounded by his family, at his residence. He was the husband of the late Melvina A. (Silvia) Miller. Born in Fall River, a son of the late Albert J. and Mary (Donnelly) Miller, he remained a resident of Fall River until he moved to Somerset 45 years ago. He was a graduate of BMC Durfee High School and Thibodeau Business School in Fall River and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Mr. Miller was employed as an office administrator for Weyhauser Lumber Co. in Portsmouth, R.I., for 33 years and had worked with Whites Restaurant and LaFrance Hospitality since its inception 55 years ago. An avid golfer, Mr. Miller was a member of Middlebrook Country Club in Rehoboth. Surviving are four children, David P. Miller of Maitland, Fla., Pamela A. Lavoie of Somerset, Donna M. Silva and her husband Larry of Bridgewater and Melissa J. Miller of Westport; five grandchildren, Christopher Lavoie, Jamie Lavoie, Karen Waring, Aaron Silva and Jessica Face; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Marion LaFrance, Edmund Miller and Lucille Frain. His funeral will be held Friday, June 6, 2008, at 8 a.m. from the Waring-Sullivan Home of Memorial Tribute at Rose E. Sullivan, 866 County St. (Rte. 138), Somerset, followed by his funeral Mass at 9 a.m. in St. Thomas More Church, 386 Luther Ave., Somerset. Visiting hours Thursday 4-8 p.m. Burial will be in St. Patricks Cemetery, Somerset. Flowers welcome, please omit any Lillies due to family allergies. Mr. Miller,
Sir, I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country when you served in the U.S. Army during WW II and for being a member of the Greatest Generation. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.
