Arnold Rogers Obituary

Wareham Arnold A. Red Rogers, 76, of Palmetto, Fla., formerly of Wareham and Middleboro, died Sunday, June 1, 2008, at Tobey Hospital. He was the husband of Joan B. (Rafferty) Rogers, with whom he shared 51 years of marriage. Born in Quincy, raised and educated in Weymouth, he was a son of the late Elliott and Lillian (Fleming) Rogers. He was a graduate of Weymouth High School and Northeastern University. Red was a veteran of the Korean War having served in the U.S. Air Force. He had been employed by Flatley and Sylvania, retiring from Raytheon as a systems analyst in 1986. Red loved working as a handyman and fishing. He was a member of the Masons and DeMolay. Besides his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Sheryl Fleming Rogers of Dallas and Wendy Evelyn Rogers Berry of Middleboro; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Elliott G. Rogers Jr. His funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 4, in the Chapman. Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Hwy. (Rte. 28), Wareham. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 10 to 11 a.m. Burial will be private. Mr. Rogers,
Sir, I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country when you served in the USAF during the Korean War. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.
