Maria Da Rosa Obituary

Brockton Maria G. (Barbosa) Da Rosa, 85, of Brockton, formerly of Taunton, died Friday, June 13, 2008, at the Copley at Stoughton. She was the wife of the late Antonio De Rosa. Born March 14, 1923, in Brava, Cape Verde, she was a daughter of the late Severino Barbosa and Julianna (Galvao) Barbosa. Mrs. Da Rosa worked in a curtain factory for several years and she enjoyed crocheting. She was a resident of Taunton before moving to Brockton and was a communicant of St. Anthony's Church in Taunton and St. Edith Stein in Brockton. She is survived by her sisters, Benvinda Faria and Maria J. Santos, both of Brockton; she is also survived by 13 nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Carolina Tavares. Funeral from the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St. (Rte. 123), Brockton, Monday at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Edith Stein/St. Edward Parish, 71 East Main St., Brockton, at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Taunton.
