Gertrude Washburn Obituary

Middleboro Gertrude Anna (Henig) Washburn, of Middleboro, died on Tuesday, June 17, 2008, at the Nemasket Health Care Center, after a lengthy illness. She was the wife of the late Warren B. Washburn, who predeceased her on December 25, 1986. She was born in Taunton; daughter of the late Arthur and Juliana (Steinke) Henig. She was a retired Nurse's Aid, at the Oak Hill Nursing Home. She was a longtime member of the First Congregational Church at the Green. Survivors include two sons; Donald C. and his wife Donna Washburn of Everett, WA, Robert F. and his wife Karen Washburn of Middleboro, one daughter; Susan B. and her husband Keith Capehart of Winchester, NH, one brother; Eugene Henig of Raynham, 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. She was the mother of the late W. Bradford Washburn, and sister of the late Al, Joseph, Julius Henig, Etta Jones and Irene Henig. A Memorial Service, to which relatives and friends are invited to attend, will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2008 at 10 a.m., at the First Congregational Church at the Green, 6 Plympton St. (Rte 105), Middleboro. Burial will be in Cemetery at the Green. Visiting hours are omitted by request. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory to: First Congregational Church, 6 Plympton St. Middleboro, MA 02346, would be appreciated. Arrangements are being handled by the Egger Funeral Home.
