Annette Carr Obituary

Chicopee Falls Annette Ethel (Sears) Carr, of Chicopee Falls, passed away Friday, June 20, 2008. Her husband, Preston A. Carr, predeceased Annette in 1951. Annette was born March 3, 1910, in Whitman, a daughter of the late Wilson and Grace (Chapman) Sears. She grew up in Whitman and graduated from Whitman High School. She moved with her family to Chicopee Falls in 1941. Annette leaves her son, Wilson Carr and his wife Lois of Granby; and her daughter, Sally Smith and her husband Walter of Granby, Conn. She also leaves two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Annette retired from Steiger's Dept. Store in Springfield, prior to that, Forbes and Wallace Dept. Store in Springfield employed her. Annette enjoyed her family, long walks, taking care of her flowers and watching the large variety of birds that came to her feeders. Funeral services will be private and the burial will be at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice. The Ryder Funeral Home of South Hadley, 413-533-1735, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
