Warren Churchill Obituary

Fort Myers, Fla. Warren L. Churchill, 83, of Shell Point, Fort Myers, passed away Sunday, June 22, 2008. Warren was born May 13, 1925, in Brockton, Mass., to Kenneth and Jennie (Bain) Churchill. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He and his wife Mary Ellen owned and operated Churchill Real Estate and Insurance agency in Massachusetts before retiring in 1997. Warren lived in Menlo Park, Calif., from 2000 until 2006, when he moved to Fort Myers. Mr. Churchill was a member of Sanibel Community Church. Survivors include his loving wife and partner of 52 years, Mary Ellen; his three children, Dan (Jean) Churchill of Jensen Beach, Diana Churchill of Hilton Head, S.C., and Kenneth L. (Shirley) Churchill of Menlo Park, Calif.; and eight grandchildren, Raija, Spencer, Manus, Lovie, Karis, Isaac, Abi and Zefan. Warren is preceded in death by his eldest son, Alan Boynton Churchill, who passed away in 2005. Graveside services at South Florida National Cemetery will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Sanibel Community Church, the American Heart Association or a charity of choice. Harvey-Engelhardt-Metz Funeral Home of Fort Myers is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Churchill,
Sir, I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country when you served in the USN during WW II and for being a member of the Greatest Generation. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.
