Shirley Evans Obituary

Middleboro Shirley June (Browne) Evans, age 76 years, of Middleboro, formerly of Whitman, died Thursday, June 26, 2008, at Tufts Medical Center in Boston. She was the wife of the late John M. Evans of Abington. Shirley was a member of the American Legion in Readsboro, Vt., and the V.F.W. in Benning-ton, Vt. She loved arts and crafts and traveled around the country with her husband for 10 years in their recreational vehicle. She was the loving mother of Mark Evans and his wife Jo-Anne of Lakeville and Marcia C. Evans of Vermont; loving grandmother of Shanna Souza and her husband John and Nicole Evans; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Her sister, Geraldine Bemis, also survives her. Her other siblings, Clyde Browne, Marion Phinney, Evelyn Donaldson, Rena Coates, Gladys Browne, Donald Browne, Earl Browne and Russell Browne, preceded her in death. A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 5 p.m. in the Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home, 280 Bedford St. (Rte. 18), Lakeville. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given in Shirleys memory to the Memorial and Honor Program, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
