Robert Euscher Obituary

Avon Robert Leslie Euscher, of Avon, formerly of Easton and Jamaica Plain, died Saturday, July 5, 2008, at West Acres Nursing and Rehab. Center in Brockton. He was 94 years old. He was born in Boston, son of the late Joseph and Helen W. (Therio) Euscher; brother of the late Eleanor P. Sproul and her husband David Sr. of Easton. He was uncle to Janie Hayes and her husband David of Bristol, R.I., David Sproul Jr. and his wife Dianne of Easton; he was great uncle to Laura Jane Hayes West, Amanda Hayes, Lindsay Sproul, Kimberly Sproul and Ian Sines. Bob was a graduate of Jamaica Plain High School and Bentley College. He was a World War II Army veteran, serving in China, Burma and India. He was a member of the Avon VFW Post 8892 and the NRA. He worked as an accountant of So. Shore Packing in Brockton and Worthmore Feed Co. He also owned and operated a poultry farm in Easton for many years before retiring in Avon. He was an avid reader and a huge Boston Red Sox fan. Bob served on the Board of Directors for the Avon Public Library for many years. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Avon Public Library, In Memory of Bob Euscher, Avon Public Library, 280 W. Main St., Avon, MA 02322. Funeral service Thursday, July 10, at 11 a.m. in the Copeland-MacKinnon Funeral Home, 38 Center St., Easton. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Mr. Euscher,
Sir, I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country when you served with the U.S. Army in the CBI fighting the Japanese during WW II and for being a member of the Greatest Generation. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.

Dear Janie & David,
So sorry to hear about Uncle Bob. I remember visiting him many times and, if memory serves correctly, seeing him at Sproul reunions in N. Easton.
