Helen L. Evans

Abington Helen L. (Gilbride) Evans, age 85, a lifelong resident of Abington, passed away July 17, 2008. She was the loving wife of the late William M. Evans Jr.; loving mother of Carol Pulkinen and husband Richard of Rockland, William M. Evans III and wife Linda of Abington, Karen Conover and husband Mark of Abington, Linda Beirne and husband Joseph "Tom" of South Weymouth and the late Marjorie Ann Evans; loving sister of John Gilbride and wife Jane of East Bridgewater and the late Marjorie Ohlson. Also survived by nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Evans was born in Rockland and graduated from Abington High School. She was a home health aide for many years throughout the South Shore. She was a member of the St. Bridgets Guild and Sodality, former member of the 72s Club, former school committee member, Girl Scout Leader, Abington Citizens Scholarship Foundation and the Abington V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary. Funeral from the Quealy and Son Funeral Home, 116 Adams St., Abington, Monday, July 21, at 8 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Bridgets Church, Abington, 9 a.m. Visitation Sunday 4 to 7 p.m. Interment St. Patricks Cemetery, Rockland.
