Edith Cote Obituary

Raynham Edith Chloe (Hall) Cote, 86 years old, died in Manor Care of Dunedin, Dunedin, Fla. Wednesday, July 16, 2008, after a brief illness. A resident of Florida for only six months, Edith was a life time resident of Raynham, having lived for the past 25 years in the Pine Hill Estates. A graduate of Taunton High School, she was a member of the First Congregational Church of Raynham (Stone Church). Edith served in the U.S. Navy from 1943 to 1945 as communications specialist in the Office of the Vice Chief of Naval Operations in Washington, DC. Her rank was that of Communications Specialist, First Class. For over 25 years, Edith worked as an operator and clerk for the former New England Telephone and Telegraph Company. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and a member of the Raynham Council on Aging. Edith was the widow of William E. Cote. She is survived by her two daughters, Barbara Roy and her husband Roger of New Port Richey, Fla. and Margaret Peggy Cote and her husband Gary Arnott of Palm Harbor, Fla. She was the grandmother of Myra Baroni, Aaron Baroni, Michael Roy and Matthew Roy and was the great-grandmother of Zachary Camara and Juliana Baroni. She is also survived by her brother, George Hall and his wife June of Naples, Fla. Edith was the long time companion of the late Ralph Isenor of Raynham. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service in the Crapo-Hathaway Funeral Home, 350 Somerset Ave. (Rte. 138 South), Taunton, Wednesday, July 23, at 11 a.m. Visiting hours will be from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service. Interment Mayflower Hill Cemetery, Taunton. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ediths memory may be made to the First Congregational Church of Raynham, 785 South Main St., Raynham, MA 02767 or to the charity of ones choice.
