Betsy Buckman Obituary

Taunton Betsy Louise (Garner) Buckman, a Taunton resident for over 15 years, died suddenly at her home, Tuesday, July 22, 2008. She was 53 years of age. She was the former wife of Bruce Allen Buckman. She was born in Norfolk, Va., daughter of Shirley (Jabush) McGuire and the late Master Sergeant Frank Garner Jr. She was a homemaker all her life and received an associate's degree in Arts from the Blue Hills Vocational Technical School in Canton. She attended the Agape Chapel in Raynham. In her spare time, Betsy enjoyed arts and crafts, oil painting, the music of Celine Deon and enjoyed decorating her home. She leaves two children, Laurie Buckman and her husband Stephen Somario of Brockton and Brian Buckman of Amherst; one sister, Jean Garner of Randolph; as well as one niece and one nephew. Betsy's funeral will be held Friday evening at 8 p.m. at the Taunton Funeral Home, 8 Crapo St. Pastor Don Fisher will officiate. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be Friday from 5-8 p.m. Cremation will follow the service. Arrangements by the Taunton Funeral Home, 8 Crapo St., off Tremont Street. J. Kevin Corbett, funeral director. Shirley, Jean, Jim, Brian, Laurie and family,
I can not tell you how sorry I am to hear of Betsy's passing. I have such fond memories of us growing up. Betsy was the Esther Williams of water ballet in our backyard pool.
