Louis Dufresne Obituary

Brockton Sgt. Louis C. Dufresne, (ret BPD), 86 years, of Brockton, died Saturday, July 26, at his home, surrounded by his family, after a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Pauline M. (King) Dufresne. He was born and raised in Brockton, a son of the late Edmund and Mary (Avery) Dufresne and remained a lifelong resident of the city. He left high school to serve in the CCC, planting trees in Colorado. During World War II, Mr. Dufresne served in the US. Army in England. He retired as a sergeant from the Brockton Police Department after 25 years of service. Mr. Dufresne was a member of the Club National, an avid golfer and a member of D.W. Field Golf Course. He aced two holes in one and was proud of his lowest score of 67. He also enjoyed Boston College football, the Patriots and Red Sox. Mr. Dufresne is survived by his three sons, Peter Dufresne of Brockton, Paul Dufresne and his wife Kerry of Sagamore Beach and Michael Dufresne and his wife Linda of Lakeville. He was the grandfather of Danielle, Michael, Lauren, Kara and David Dufresne and the great-grandfather of Taylor and Jackson. He was the brother of George, Edmund and John Dufresne, all of Brockton, Eva May Rocha of Taunton and the late Richard, Gerald, Albert and Louise Dufresne, Florence Mahan, Evangaline Landry and Beatrice Muniz. He also leaves many nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont St. (Rte. 123), Brockton, Wednesday, at 8 a.m. Funeral Mass in Christ the King/St. Colman Parish at 9 a.m. Burial in Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton. Mr. Dufresne,
Sir, I would just like to say thank you for your years of dedicated service and sacrifice-first for our Country when you served with the U.S. Army in Europe during WW II and secondly for the citizens of Brockton when you served with the BPD. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.

Zeke and I are sad to look at Lou's house and see the front curtain not open and no car in the driveway, Lou was a wonderful neighbor and friend to us and we will miss him terribly.
