Mary Higgins Obituary

Easton Mary M. (Hardiman) Higgins, 90, of Middleboro, formerly of Easton and Malden, died July 14, 2008, at Oak Hill Nursing Home in Middleboro, after a period of failing health. She was the companion of the late George W. Hardiman. Born in Boston, Nov. 4, 1917, a daughter of the late Martin and Margaret (Spellman) Hardiman, she was raised and educated in Boston. A devoted mother, she lived in Malden for 20 years and was an avid gardener who enjoyed Irish music. She is survived by her children, Stephen F. Higgins and his wife Maria of Canton, Ann M. Higgins and her fianc Joseph Visocchi of Brighton, James P. Higgins and his partner Joseph Bellone of Naples, Fla., Richard Higgins of Orlando, Fla.; sister of Russell Hardiman of Boston. Also survived by many grandchildren. She was also the sister of the late John T. Hardiman, Martin Hardiman, Rev. Francis Hardiman and Helen T. Sherry. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a funeral service of remembrance in the Unity Church of North Easton, 9 Main St., Easton, Saturday, Aug. 2, at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Marys memory may be sent to the Home for Little Wanderers, 271 Huntington Ave., Boston, MA 02115.
