She also leaves her many friends and co-workers at the Office of the State Attorney Earl Moreland. Betty moved to Florida in 2003 after working for Stream, GTE and Digitas in the Boston area. Betty attended Stonehill College, where she earned a bachelor's degree in Business Administration. She had various backgrounds in administration and technology. Currently, she was working for the Office of the State Attorney as a legal assistant. Betty fought a valiant fight against her cancer with grace and a positive attitude. However, she was called to the Lord at an early age. She asks that you remember her with laughter and a smile. She dearly loved her life and the people in it. She thanks everyone at the Florida Cancer Specialists, the State Attorney's Office, the Public Defender's Office, the many private attorneys and assistants and especially all of her family and friends for assisting her with her fight. Her celebration of life will be held at Griffith-Cline Funeral Home, Aug. 2, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. In lieu of flowers, Betty requested that remembrances may be made in her memory to St. Jude's Children's Hospital and the American Cancer Society.

Dear Johnsky Family,

I am so saddened to hear of Betty's passing. Not only was she a great friend and co-worker, she was also from time to time my "Scottish" partner in crime when we were off at the Scottish Festivals being silly.
Her warmth and sense of humor will be missed so much. May the joyous memories of such a remarkable woman bring you comfort in the days ahead.

I met Betty at Women With Cancer support group. She was an inspriation to all of us with her courage, honesty and sense of humor. She did not just think of herself, but of others. She worked diligently to raise funds for American Cancer Society Relay for life. Though feeling ill, she spent the night at Relay.
She will be missed by many and I will always remember her. My condolences to her family and am sorry I won't be able to attend her memorial. When I am down I will let my memories of her great spritit and smile lift me up again. All of us who knew her were blessed by that experience.
