Virginia Closson Obituary

Augusta, Ga. Virginia Sagar (Burnett) Closson, 89, of Augusta, Ga., entered into rest Friday, July 25, 2008. She was born August 16, 1918, and was a daughter of the late Walter and Eudivilia Gilmore Burnett. She was an area resident for the last eight years and was a member of Pine Forest Baptist Church. Born in Dracut, Mass., she lived in Brockton, Mass., before moving to Lemon Grove, Calif. in 1972, where she retired as a Dietitian Mrs. Closson loved dancing, gardening and was a seamstress. She is survived by two children, Robert W. Closson and his late wife Anna, Canton, Mass. and Eudivilia Mahon, North Augusta, S.C.; a sister, Madeline G. Mattie and her husband Eugene, Lemon Grove, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and eight great great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 30, 2008, from the graveside in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Graniteville, S.C., with Pastor Wesley Green officiating. Arrangements from Hatcher Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Langley, S.C. There will be a remembrance Mass, August 10, 2008, at 8 a.m. at Christ The King Parish, (formally St. Colemans), 42 Wendell Ave., Brockton, Mass.
