Richard Carlisle Obituary

Weymouth Richard V. Carlisle, died Aug. 2,2008, at Quincy Radius. He was 82 years old. Born in Fall River, he was raised and educated in Fall River and New Haven, Conn. Richard lived in Norwell for 34 years before moving to Weymouth 21 years ago. He served in World War II and the Korean War while in the U.S. Navy for 20 years. He was also a long time employee of Honeywell Corp. and late member of the Fleet Reserve and the D.A.V. Beloved husband of Gertrude E. (Reynolds) Carlisle; father of Richard V. Carlisle Jr. of China, D. Linda McLaughlin of Maine, Brian D. Carlisle of Weymouth, Joel E. Carlisle of Falmouth, Laura M. Martini of Texas and Leslie A. Jackman of Abington; brother of Thomas M. Carlisle of Florida and Helen Woodin of Connecticut; also survived by 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Funeral service in the South Weymouth McDonald Funeral Home, 809 Main St. (Rte. 18 opp. South Shore Hospital), Wednesday, at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Tuesday, 4-8 p.m. Interment Mt. Hope Cemetery, Weymouth. Donations in Richards memory may be made to New England Shelter for Homeless Veterans, 17 Court St., Boston MA 02108 or American Diabetes Assoc., 330 Congress St., Boston, MA 02210.
