Lugian Medico Obituary

Rockland Mr. Lugian "Lou" Medico, 85, of Rockland, died Tuesday, in the South Shore Hospital in Weymouth after a short illness. He was born in Braintree on December 13, 1922, son of the late Dominic and Cristine (Giso) Medico. He was raised and educated in Braintree and lived in Abington until moving to Rockland in 1959. Mr. Medico served in the Navy for 12 years seeing service in WW2 and Korea. He was the recipient of the American Area Ribbon, the Asiatic-Pacific Ribbon, the Philippine Liberation Ribbon and the WW2 Victory medal. He was the retired founder and owner of the Rockland Auto Body shop in Rockland. He was the former owner of several racehorses and was active in the horse racing society. He and his wife of 62 years traveled cross country in their camper for many years. Mr. Medico was given a Traing Award by Hanover Fire Rescue Squad in 1974. He is survived by his wife, Jennie (Bevilacqua) Medico. Father of Robert L. Medico of Rockland, Louis R. Medico of Pawtucket, RI and Dominic D. Medico of Hanson. Brother of Michael Medico of CA and Frank Medico of Washington, DC and Mary Medico of Braintree. Grandfather of 15 and great-grandfather of 8. He was the father of the late Patricia A. Johnson and brother of the late Lawrence Medico, Angie Oberg and Rose Richardi. The Funeral Mass will be on Friday at 9 AM in Holy Family Church, 403 Union Street, Rockland. Interment will be in Blue Hill Cemetery in Braintree. Visiting Hours will be on Thursday from 4-8 PM in the Sullivan Funeral Home, 45 East Water St. in ROCKLAND. Hey grampa, it's been a long time since I've seen you and talked to you... I think about you almost daily. I miss you man.... Your dad was named Dominic, you named your son Dominic (my dad) your son named his son Dominic (me) and I named my son Dominic (your great grandson) I miss you. I wish little Dominic III could have met you... He's so awesome, he will know who you are even though you guys have never met. I love you and miss u Grampa... The Medico legacy will live on!!!! Hopefully when we meet again Medico will live on!!

Sir, I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country when you served in the USN during WW II and the Korean War and for being a member of the Greatest Generation. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.
