Nancy Willett-Lehane Obituary

Brockton Nancy (McCormack) Willett-Lehane, 77 years, of Brockton, lost her year long battle with cancer, Aug. 4, 2008, with her children and grandchildren by her side. Nancy was born in County Limerick, Ireland, and was a daughter of the late Richard and Lucy (Rea) McCormack. She moved to the United States in 1952. In 1958, she married Joe Willett, settled in Brockton and together raised five children. While residing in Brockton, she spent several years working for the telephone company. After a divorce to Joe, who died in 1993, Nancy returned to Ireland, where she reunited with and married Jim Lehane, her high school sweetheart; a man well known in the community for his talents in drama and magic. Nancy and Jim spent 13 happy years together until his death in 2002. Together, she and Jim actively participated in many community events. Her role as make up artist and actress for many productions by the Ballinvreena Community Theatre Group became a favorite hobby. She was an active member of the Ballinvreena Ladies' Club. She enjoyed entering her flowers, always bright and colorful, her veggies and baked goods in the Annual Flower and Veggie Show at the Community Centre. These years were some of the most fulfilling and exciting of her life. Following Jim's death, Nancy returned to Brockton, where she had resided for the last five years. She is lovingly remembered by her family as a quiet lady with high standards, who devoted herself to her children and grandchildren while embracing the many changes and challenges life presented to her. She is survived by her five children and their spouses, Terry and John Pedicini of Saugus, Richard T. Willett of Texas, Ellen Willett and Scott Albertson of Brockton, Jimmy and Karen Willett of New Hampshire and Mary and Bill Bussey of Bridgewater; her grandchildren, Alex, Jon, Sarah, Erin, Anna, Olivia, Colin, Chris, Scotty, Joey and Makenzie; and her siblings, Richard McCormack, Nellie Grogan, Mary Maher and Lucy Murphy, all of Ireland, and the late Sheila Wolfe and James and Patrick McCormack. There will be a funeral from the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont St. (Rte. 123), Brockton, Saturday at 9 a.m., followed by a funeral Mass in St. Edith Stein Parish/St. Edward Church at 10 a.m. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, West Bridgewater. Visiting hours are Friday 5-9 p.m. For condolences and directions, www.conleyfuneralhome.com.
