Donna K. Durfee

Rockland Donna K. (Carey) Durfee, 61, of Rockland, died very suddenly, at her home, Aug. 9, 2008. She was born in Rockland, daughter of the late Joseph and Evelyn (Flynn) Carey and was raised and educated there. She was a graduate of Rockland High School and later attended Quincy Jr. College. Donna had been employed for nearly 30 years as a medical assistant at Harbor Medical Associates and South Shore Hospital. She had previously worked at Rockland Trust Co. She was a former member of the Rockland Sons of Italy, the Rockland PTA and had been active in Rockland Youth Hockey and the Rockland High School Boosters Club. She is survived by her husband, James W. Durfee; and their children, James J. Durfee and his wife Alicia of Weymouth, Ryan C. Durfee and his wife Cheryl of Rockland, Timothy G. Durfee and his wife Susan of Hanson and Sean C. Durfee of Rockland. She was the mother of the late Terrance M. Durfee. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Kayla, Delaney and Cameron Durfee. A funeral will be held from the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union St., Rockland, Thursday at 8:15 a.m. A funeral Mass will follow in Holy Family Church at 9 a.m. Burial will follow in Holy Family Cemetery.
