Myra Bena-Norris Obituary

LAKEVILLE Myra Hammond (Smith) Bena-Norris, age 92 years, formerly of Middleboro, died Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2008, at the Island Terrace Nursing Home, Lakeville, after a lengthy illness. She was the wife of the late Carlo Bena and John G. Norris. She was born in Carver, daughter of the late Percy and Bertha (Garnett) Smith. She was a shoe worker at the former Plymouth Shoe Company and a supervisor at the Walker Company, Middleboro, for 18 years. She was a member of the Degree of Pocahontas. Survivors include three daughters, Lorraine Bena Stites of Virginia, Mary Lou Bena Mattos of Taunton, Caroline Bena Dexter of Middleboro; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and nine great great-grandchildren. She was mother of the late Robert F. Bena. Funeral services, to which relatives and friends are invited to attend, will be held Friday at 10 a.m. in the Ashley Funeral Home, 35 Oak St., Middleboro. Visiting hours will be held Thursday from 6-8 p.m. Burial will take place in Lakenham Cemetery, Carver. For more information, please visit www.eggerandashleyfh.com.
