Brenda McCarthy Obituary

Brenda M. McCarthy MIDDLEBORO Brenda M. (Picanzo) McCarthy, age 52 years, of Middleboro, died unexpectedly, Sept. 13, 2008, at her home. She was the wife of the late David Shaw and the late Daniel McCarthy. Born Aug. 21, 1956, in Brockton, she was a daughter of Robert J. Picanzo of Raynham and the late Ruth E. (Raymond) Picanzo. Brenda was educated in Marshfield schools and went on to attend classes at Stonehill College. She worked in the healthcare field for many years and was once employed by Codman & Shurtleff, Inc., in Avon. She was a past officer of the Taunton Elks Lodge No. 150 and loved animals, nature, gardening and most of all spending time with her family. In addition to her father Robert, she is survived by four children, Paul Shaw of Middleboro, Jessica McCarthy of Gardner, John Stanley III and Holly Stanley, both of Tampa, Fla.; a brother, Robert J. Picanzo of Pennsylvania; four sisters, Paula Papineau and her husband Charles of West Bridgewater, Ruth Anne Almeida and her husband Michael of Brockton, Andrea Picanzo of Raynham and Sally Higgins of Taunton; two grandchildren, Sylvia Shaw and Tyler Stanley; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. A funeral service will be held Thursday, Sept. 18, 2008, at 10 a.m. in the Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home, 647 Main St., Brockton. Interment will follow in Beaver Cemetery in East Bridgewater. Visitation will take place Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2008, from 4-8 p.m. For additional information or to send a condolence, please visit www.d-mfh.com.
