L. Wilson Obituary

EAST BRIDGEWATER L. Robert Wilson, a lifelong resident of East Bridgewater, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 16, in the house he built, while surrounded by his loving family. He was 84. Born in Brockton, Robert graduated from East Bridgewater High School, Class of 1942. After graduation, he joined the U.S. Army Air Force and served in Europe during World War II. Robert married his childhood sweetheart Lois and were married for over 64 years. Robert worked for many years for the Swanson Flood Appliance Store of East Bridgewater as a repairman. Robert was a carpenter at heart and could build or fix anything. Later in life, Robert could be found with his family on camping and canoeing trips. He was a councilor and member of Boy Scouts. Bob was a lifelong and active member of the United Methodist Church of East Bridgewater. He volunteered as the church's general repairman for over 60 years. He was the loving husband of Lois G. (Bosworth) Wilson of East Bridgewater; devoted father of Ronald R. Wilson of New Bedford, Kathy A. (Wilson) Pircio and her husband James of East Bridgewater, Patricia L. (Wilson) Langton and her husband Gary of East Bridgewater, Susan L. (Wilson) St.Thomas and her husband Thomas of Bridgewater; proud grandfather of Seth, Autumn, Luke, Lydia, Kyle and Chloe; brother of Marjorie L. Bigelow of Swansea. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. A graveside service will be held at Central Cemetery, East Bridgewater, at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 19. A memorial service will be held Friday, Sept. 19, at the United Methodist Church of East Bridgewater, at 11 a.m . Visiting hours to be held at the Prophett-Chapman, Cole and Gleason Funeral Home (formerly Wales-Prophett's), 35 Spring St., East Bridgewater, Thursday from 5-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the East Bridgewater United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, 54 North Central St., East Bridgewater, MA 02333.
