Raymond Brennick Obituary

Raymond E. Brennick Sr. EASTON Raymond E. Brennick Sr., 86, of Easton, died Wednesday, Aug. 27, in Leb-anon, N.H., after a short battle with cancer. He was born Dec. 7, 1921, a son of Edward and Margaret (Furlong) Brennick. He was born and raised on the Ames estate, now known as Borderland State Park. This was also his first home after marriage to Dorothy Evelyn Robertson, Aug. 31, 1946. After attending Oliver Ames High School, he was a member of the 706th Tank Battalion of the U.S. Army, during World War II, where he served on Guam, Leyte, Ie Shima and Okinowa. He was the recipient of the Good Conduct Medal, the Victory Medal, the American Theater Campaign Ribbon, the Asiatic Pacific Theater Campaign Ribbon and the Philippine Liberation Ribbon with two bronze service stars. He worked for over 30 years at Brookfield Engineering Laboratory in Stoughton. After retiring, he participated in missionary work in the Dominican Republic for 10 years with his wife. Mr. Brennick was a member of the Easton Congregational Church, where he had served on several committees. He was an avid, longtime golfer, but most of all, enjoyed spending time with his family. He was predeceased by two brothers, Lawrence and John Brennick, and two sisters, Eleanor Gomes and Barbara Cole. He is survived by his wife of 62 years; three sons, Raymond Brennick of Kissimmee, Fla., Stephen Brennick of Bridgewater and Jeoffry Brennick of Lebanon, N.H.; two daughters, Kathleen Cabral and Deborah Jewett, both of Bridgewater; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert Brennick of Stoughton and Mary Collins of Vershire, Vt.; as well as many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Oct. 11, 2008, 1-3 p.m. at the Robert J. Keefe Community Center, at Parker Terrace, North Easton. Family and friends are invited to remember and celebrate his life, with an opportunity to share your memories of Ray at 2 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Central New England Chapter, 1115 West Chestnut St., Brockton, MA 02301.

Mr. Brennick,
Sir, I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country when you served with the U.S. Army in the Pacific fighting the Japanese during WW II and also for being a member of the Greatest Generation. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.

Sorry to hear about Mr. Brennick passing away. Unfortunately, I have not seen him for many years, but I will always have fond memories of him. He was a wonderful neighbor and he will be missed.

Sorry to hear of rays passing. I knew ray from Ba yRoad in Easton when i was a little girl. My family lived there and we went to school at Poquanticut school. Brings back memories. I am now living in Florida in Citrus Springs. Emily MaDan Enos McFarland.
