Kenneth Butler Obituary

Kenneth Butler PLYMOUTH Kenneth Butler, age 69, died in Plymouth, at Jordan Hospital, following a long illness. He was the devoted husband of Dorothy (May) Butler of Plymouth. Born in Brockton, Sept. 23, 1939, Mr. Butler was a son of the late Wendell R. and Myrtle L. (Hood) Butler. He was educated in Whitman and was a graduate of Whitman High School, Class of 1958. He then entered the U.S. Air Force. Upon his honorable discharge, Mr. Butler worked as a milkman and sales manager for the Hood Company for over 23 years. He then went on working as a sales representative for L. Knife and Sons as well as various other companies. He also worked as a locker room manager for the Brae Burn Country Club in Newton and the Blackrock Country Club in Hingham. He was a past member of the Commercial Club in East Bridgewater. His hobbies included golfing and watching sports. Besides leaving his wife Dorothy (May) Butler, he is survived by two sons, Fr. Timothy A. Butler, Chaplain of the U.S. Air Force, Christopher G. Butler and his wife Carletta of Plymouth; a daughter; Kellie Caldwell of Plymouth; a brother, Richard W. Butler of Marlboro, N.H.; a sister, Janice E. Jones of East Bridgewater; two stepsons, Richard Pomer of Hoboken, N.J., and Scott Pomer of Carver; two stepdaughters, Robin DeJulio of Kirkland, Wash., and Kristen Doty of Belview, Wash. He was the cherished grandfather of Amy Caldwell and George Caldwell IV. Mr. Butler was predeceased by his brother, Robert Butler of Phoenix and is also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. The Mass of Christian burial will take place Saturday morning at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Church in North Plymouth. Friends may call at the Cartmell Funeral Home, 150 Court St., Plymouth, Saturday morning from 8 to 10 a.m. Cremation took place at Mayflower Crematory in Duxbury. Burial will be private. Donations in his memory may be made to the Jordan Hospital Cancer Center, 275 Sandwich St., Plymouth, or St. Mary Church, 313 Court St., Plymouth, MA 02360.
