Jerry Mellinger Obituary

Jerry G. Mellinger KINGSTON Jerry Gene Mellinger, of Kingston, died Sept. 24, 2008, at Jordan Hospital, in Plymouth, at the age of 72. He was the devoted and loving husband of 51 years to Paula (Xidias) Mellinger of Kingston; father of Gary Mellinger and his wife Amy of Londonderry, N.H.; brother of Pauline Bealls of Indiana; grandfather of Kaitlyn, Taylor and Jillian. Jerry was born in Fort Wayne, Ind., and was educated in Indiana. He had lived in Kingston for 33 years and previously Pembroke for 10 years. Jerry worked as a supervisor in maintenance for the Scott Food Services (which is Kentucky Fried Chicken). He was a veteran in the U.S. Air Forces during the Korean War, in which he was a mechanic on President Eisenhower's aircraft. Jerry was on the committee for Troop 49 Boy Scouts, but his true love was his family. Calling hours will be held Sunday, Sept. 28, 2008, from 4-7 p.m. at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main St. (Rte. 106), Kingston. A funeral service will be held Monday, Sept. 29, 2008, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by a burial at Evergreen Cemetery in Kingston. Mr. Mellinger,
Sir, I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country when you served in the USAF during the Korean War. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.
