Orrin R. Cummings Jr.

Orrin R. Cummings Jr. ROCKLAND Orrin R. Cummings Jr., 78, of Rockland, died Oct. 20, 2008, at South Shore Hospital, after a period of failing health. He was born in Rockland, son of the late Orrin R. Cummings Sr. and Gladys L. (Oliver) Cummings and was raised and educated there, graduating from Rockland High School. Orrin was a lifelong resident of the town. He had a lengthy career as an automobile salesman, working for Central Motors in Norwood for 30 years, prior to his retirement. Mr. Cummings was an avid sailor, enjoying time spent on his boat, the Sabattical, which he kept moored in Scituate Harbor. He was the brother of Janice Anderson of Virginia and the late Oliver Cummings. Also surviving is his sister-in-law, Evelyn Cummings of Sandwich; a nephew, Robert Cummings of East Falmouth; and two nieces, Lorraine and Marilyn Cummings of Sandwich. Visiting in the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union St., Rockland, will be held Thursday, Oct. 23, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. A funeral service will follow at 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery in Rockland.
