Shirley Haynes Obituary

Shirley L. Haynes TAUNTON Shirley L. Haynes, 82, of East Taunton, died Saturday, Oct. 25, 2008, at her home. Born in Meriden, Conn., she was a daughter of the late Charley and Gladys Smith Dawson. She liked to paint and had been a well-known manicurist in New York City for many years. She had also worked at the Brockton VA, Lakeville Hospital, Paul A. Devor and the Lenon Barrows Shoe Shop in Middleboro. She married Tisquantum Haynes in 1956 and he died in 2001. She is survived by a daughter, Komi Whitehorse of E. Taunton; a granddaughter, Klindy-Mye O. Haynes; and three great-grandchildren, Toure, Nevaya and Kashius Perry of Wareham. She also leaves a sister, Gladys Addison of Maryland; one great-niece; and two great nephews. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of services at 12 p.m. Wednesday, at Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 40 MacArthur Blvd., Bourne. Burial will follow in the Indian Burial Ground in Mashpee. In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society. www.nickersonbournefuneralhome.com.
