Elaine O'Meara Obituary

BROCKTON Elaine D. (Barry) O'Meara, of Brockton, formerly of Randolph, passed away, at the age of 71, after a period of failing health, Oct. 31, 2008. She was the loving mother of John O'Meara of Whitman, Karen Clinton and Linda O'Meara, both of Brockton, and the late Michael E. O'Meara; loving grandmother of Kayla and Donald D. Clinton; daughter of the late Edmund A. Barry; dear niece of Doris McHugh of Randolph; devoted sister of Adele Costa of Hyde Park, Richard Barry of Albany, N.Y., the late Elizabeth Donovan and Joseph Barry. Also survived by five other children; and her faithful companion, Molly the cat. Born in Boston, Mrs. O'Meara was raised in Roxbury and was graduate of Roxbury Memorial High School, Class of 1954. She had lived in Brockton for the past 27 years and prior to that she had lived in Randolph for about 20 years. Former employee of Semline, Co., Braintree, she worked there for about 15 years. She enjoyed visiting Castle Island in South Boston and spending time with family and friends. Private funeral services where held today in St. Mary Church, Randolph, and burial took place in Central Cemetery, Randolph. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the the American Lung Association, 61 Broadway, New York, NY 10006. Arrangements are under the direction of the Cartwright Funeral Home, 419 North Main St., Randolph.

I am so sorry to hear about your Mom's passing. Linda, I know your mom was your very best friend and I can only imagine the pain you are enduring right now. If you ever just need a shoulder to cry on, let me know. You were there for me when I needed someone, now it's my turn.
