As one of her granddaughters, I can tell you that I have wonderful memories of my caring and loving grandmother.

I remember singing songs off-key with her on her hammock at about 5 years old, laughing and carrying on.

I also remember, from childhood, that she made the best peanut butter sandwiches and was generous with those little sandwich cookies and strawberry candies when I would visit.

As an adult, I would call her from time to time and listen to her tell some stories of her youth (she had a remarkable memory). I would also call her for recipes too. Her apple pie was unbeatable. I always felt better after talking with her on the phone or after a visit.

My grandmother was a talented perfectionist who took pride in her work. If you ever saw her needlepoint creations, they were always perfect on both sides. Amazing!

I will miss her softness, her kindness, her regalness, her class. I'll miss the way she'd say, "that's lovely dear."

She was the lovely dear.

Grandma Harvey lives on in my memories and in those she touched. She inspires me in many ways.

I loved my grandmother very much and I hope she is in peace.

Allan & Family,
I'm so sorry to hear that Kay has died. I have many nice memories of visits in Florida and Maine over the years. Her needlework was the most beautiful I've ever seen. My heart goes out to all of you at this time and in the days ahead.
