Faris J. Ackil BROCKTON Faris J. Ackil, 77 years, of Brockton, died unexpectedly, Nov. 7, 2008, at Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center. Born and raised in Brockton, he was a son of the late Abdallah and Richidi (Nasser) Ackil. Faris was a 1949 graduate of Brockton High School, a Korean War veteran and longtime manager for Stop & Shop Supermarket. He was instrumental in raising four nephews, who considered him their third parent. He was a great cook who would cook for the boys and their friends, but also taught them honesty and how to care for others. He was an avid gardener and Boston Red Sox fan, who during the 2004 World Championship season, had the privilege to throw out the first pitch at one of the games. He is survived by two brothers, Dr. Joseph Ackil of Newton, Dr. Albert Ackil of Canton; a sister, Marion Solomon of Rhode Island; his sisters-in-law, Ann Ackil and Mary Ackil; three Godchildren; many nieces, nephews and friends. He was the brother of the late Josephine George. Funeral from the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont St. (Rte. 123), Brockton, Monday at 9 a.m. The service of the divine liturgy will be celebrated at St. Theresa Maronite Catholic Church, 343 North Main St., Brockton, at 10 a.m. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visiting hours Sunday, 2-7 p.m., with the service of incense at 6 p.m. Donations in his name may be made to St. Theresa Church, P.O. Box 2567, Brockton, MA 02305-2567. Albert, Ann and Sons, Joe, Mary and Family, Marion , all Neices and Nephews of the Ackil Family, My Deepest and Heartfelt Sympathy go out to you all during this time of Loss. Faris touched so many lives with his longtime generousity and kindness, he was truly an inspiration to so many of the young and old.
He was everyones Uncle, Friend,
Brother. He never let us forget our Roots or were we came from, which makes us all the stronger today. My heart is Breaking for when I think of Faris fondly , I think of all our Loss's and how they all touch our lives and If I could build a stairway to heaven , I'd walk right up and bring them all home again. I know that;s not possible, but I beleive Faris is and Angel now and I know God's Light shines on Him. There is a reason for every season, we don't know the answers , but someday we will.
