Joanne Pilz Obituary

EASTON Joanne (Danovich) Pilz, 60, a resident of Easton for the past 31 years, died Thursday morning, at home under the care of her family and hospice. She was the wife of John Pilz for 39 years. Born in Norwood, June 13, 1948, a daughter of the late Walter and Barbara (Fraser) Danovich, she was raised in Norwood and was a graduate of Norwood High School. Joanne was employed by the town of Easton for 19 years and worked as an administrative assistant for the Easton Board of Health. She was an avid NASCAR fan who enjoyed the Bruins, Patriots and Red Sox. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, she had an interest in bird watching. In addition to her husband, she is survived by three children, Jennifer L. Sullivan of Mooresville, N.C., Jason C. Pilz of Easton and Michael J. Pilz of Nashua, N.H..; a brother, Richard Danovich of Connecticut; and two grandchildren, Jack W. Sullivan and Tyler M. Sullivan; she was also the sister of the late Walter Danovich. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Kane Funeral Home, 605 Washington St. (Rte. 138), Easton, Monday, at 9 a.m., followed by a funeral service in the Holy Cross Church, Easton, at 10 a.m. Visiting hours Sunday, 2-5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Joannes memory may be sent to Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 10 Brookline Place West, 6th floor, Brookline, MA 02445-7226, Attn.
