James F. West Jr. BROCKTON James F. West Jr., 74 years, of Brockton, died Nov. 13, 2008, at Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center. He was the husband of the late Dorothy (Delaney) West. Born in Boston, son of the late James F. and Dorothy (McLaughlin) West, Jim was a 1953 graduate of Hyde Park High School. He had been employed for more than 30 years by New England Telephone as a TAG manager. He had been retired for the past 23 years and in his retirement enjoyed giving and doing for others. Jim was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Council, Prolife Committee and had been a CCD teacher at the church for many years. He was also a member of the War Memorial Committee, Irelands Own, Knights of Columbus Seville Council, Telephone Pioneers and had been a campaign manager for Joe Moakley. Jim was an avid Red Sox fan. He was the father Paula Kiernan and her husband Richard of Bellingham, Betsy West and her companion George Brown of Middleboro, Carol Lescarbeau and her fiance Richard Vickery of Marion, Danny West of Brockton and the late James F. West III. He is survived by 10 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; a brother, George West and his wife Barbara of Stoughton; and a sister, Helen J. McNally of Sanbornville, N.H. He was the longtime loving companion of the late Nancy Niccoli. Funeral from the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont St. (Rte. 123), Brockton, Monday, at 8 a.m. Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Lourdes Church at 9 a.m. Burial in Melrose Cemetery.
