Marilyn Mariani Obituary

Marilyn R. Mariani BROCKTON Marilyn R. (Livie) Mariani, 85 years, of Brockton, died Nov. 14, 2008, at West Acres Nursing Home, surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife for 57 years of the late Edward J. Mariani. Mrs. Mariani was born in Brockton, a daughter of the late George and Marjorie (Miller) Livie and was a resident of the city for most of her life. Mrs. Mariani worked as a floral designer for many years at Great Elm Greenhouse in Brockton and later at Dempseys Village Barn in West Bridgewater. She also taught floral design in the Brockton Community School Program for several years. Mrs. Mariani enjoyed reading and spending time with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had been a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Brockton. She was the loving mother of Linda Bubello and her husband Charles, Nancy Dunsing and her husband Buddy and Jay Mariani, all of Brockton. She was the devoted grandmother of Tara Damiani and her husband Paul of Brockton, Todd Bubello and his wife Kimberlee (Gibbs) of Brockton, Tayla Grant and her husband Nicholas of West Bridgewater, Melissa and Sarah Dunsing, both of Brockton and Ross, John and Nicholas Mariani, all of Taunton. Mrs. Mariani was the proud great-grandmother of Angelina and Dominic Damiani, Olivia and Oliver Gibbs-Bubello and Vincent Grant. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews as well as her friend and former daughter-in-law, Marie DiCroce of Taunton. She was the sister of the late Marjorie Barton and Meredith Anderson. Funeral service in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont St. (Rte. 123), Brockton, Tuesday, at 10:30 a.m. followed by burial in the Mass National Cemetery, Bourne, at 12:30 p.m. Visiting hours Monday, 4-8 p.m. Donations in Marilyns name may be made to the Mass Hospital School, 3 Randolph St., Canton, MA 02021.
