Josephine M. Roach

BRIDGEWATER Josephine M. (Chimber) Roach, a lifelong resident of Bridgewater, died at Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital, Nov. 17, after a brief illness. She was 91. Josephine was the wife of the late Richard T. Roach. A beloved daughter of the late Anthony and Beatrice Chimber, she was a graduate of Bridgewater Academy, Class of 1936. After being a homemaker for many years, she worked for Bridgewater Cooperative Bank, from which she retired. Josephine was a former member of the St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Womens Club and the Bridgewater Osamequin Club. She is survived by her children, Richard T. Roach Jr. of Bridgewater, Marianne Roach of Hopedale and Thomas A. Roach of Wareham. She was the proud grandmother of Jason Roach of Torrance, Calif., and Timothy and Christopher Roach of Wareham. Also survived by a great-granddaughter, Leah Roach of Torrance, Calif.; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Wednesday, Nov. 19, from the Prophett-Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 98 Bedford St. (Rte. 18), Bridgewater, at 9 a.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, at 10 a.m. Visitation prior to Mass, at the funeral home, from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Josephines memory may be sent to the Friends of Bridgewater Public Library, 15 South St., Bridgewater, MA 02324, or Bridgewater VNA, c/o Partners Home Care, 281 Winter St., Suite 240, Waltham, MA 02451.
