George Willis Obituary

MIDDLEBORO George H. Willis, age 70 years, of Middleboro, died unexpectedly, Thursday, Nov. 13, 2008, at Deaconess Hospital, in Boston, from heart complications. Born Tuesday, Feb. 22, 1938, in Brockton, he was a son of the late Russell S. and Mildred I. (Swift) Willis. George had lived and was educated in West Bridgewater, and for the past 25 years, had been a resident Middleboro. He served in the U.S. Army in Germany and had worked for many years as a truck driver in the concrete business. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting. He is survived by his sisters, Jean York of Chatham and Eleanor Dors and her husband Henry of Onset; and several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Stanley Willis. Memorial visitation will take place Monday, Nov. 24, 2008, from 10-11 a.m. in the Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home, 280 Bedford St., Lakeville, followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, in Bourne, at 12:45 p.m. For additional information or to send a condolence to the family, please visit www.d-mfh.com.
