John Gill Obituary

STOUGHTON John D. Jack Gill, 65, died at home, unexpectedly, Wednesday, Nov. 19. Son of the late Felix and Mary (Barrett) Gill, he was born in Brockton and was a lifelong resident of Stoughton. He was a graduate of Stoughton High School. Mr. Gill was an U.S. Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War. He worked in maintenance at Gill Machine in Stoughton for 25 years, before retiring six years ago. A Civil War buff, he also enjoyed Nascar and family genealogy. Mr. Gill is survived by his brothers, Wayne Gill and his wife Elizabeth and Leslie Gill, all of Stoughton; as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rte. 27), Stoughton, Monday, at 8 a.m., followed by a funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton, at 9 a.m. Visiting hours Sunday 2-5 p.m. Burial will take place at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne. To my Uncle Jack: I will miss you more than ever. You were one of the funniest people I have ever met. I'll never forget the time you told me when you saw the beatles in concert. You told me they looked like a bunch of rootbeer cans on stage, because you were so far away! If you saw me writting this, you would love the fannel I have on! Im only wearing one!! Not layers! I love you!, you niece Jacquelyn.

I am sorry for your loss. I would like to thank Jack for his voluntary services to the Amvetts Post 1977. I would also like to thank him for his service to our country. I've known him for 10 years. We had alot of good laughs. He will be missed dearly. Maybe god rest his soul.
